Camping Safari




This is 8 days / 7 nights camping safari itinerary in Tanzania in the northern circuit. This plan will take clients to the northern circuit wildlife areas such as the Serengeti national park all the way to the Ngorongoro crater and ending at Tarangire national park. Passing through Natron when going to the Serengeti and returning through Ngorongoro to Mto wa mbu town. The accommodation will be nice Safari canvas tents from the start to the end, also the use of sleeping bags or camping beds upon request.


Day 1 | Arusha – Maasai Boma

The Safari starts at Arusha city as clients will be picked up early morning after breakfast at the hotel and drive to the Maasai boma around Natron area. Upon reaching the Maasai boma clients will have an opportunity to interact with the Maasai people learn and experience the way the Maasai live their life and how they perform their social activities, picnic lunches will be given at lunch time around the Maasai boma place.

Day 2 | Natron

Waking up early in the morning for breakfast, then drive to Kidemii campsite where camping tents will be made, while the clients will be driven to Lake Natron for a walking safari around the lake. This lake is famous for Flamingoes breeding ground in East Africa. Here, Clients will have an opportunity of seeing Flamingoes with their mud nests on this soda water lake and other birds species, later in the afternoon clients will return to Kidemii campsite for their hot lunch and rest for a while, in late afternoon clients will be taken to the waterfall for sightseeing and swimming then return in the evening for dinner and overnight at Kidemii campsite.

Day 3 | Natron – Serengeti National Park

After breakfast, we depart Natron and drive to Serengeti national park. It will be a long drive, so we carry picnic lunch with us and after reaching Serengeti national park we will do a game drive until afternoon, when we will have lunch in the bush picnic site. Then we continue with game drive until the evening when we head to the public campsite for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 4 | Serengeti National Park

An early morning game drive at dawn will be ideal to spot the nocturnal animals with luck after they have hunted, and also to see birds until the sun rises and we return to campsite for breakfast. after breakfast we then leave with packed picnic lunches for a whole day game drive in the Serengeti national park and if the season is ripe for the wildebeest migration, as well as other animals and birds, with luck we will be able to spot the big five (5). Lunch at a bush picnic site and go on with game drive returning at campsite in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay at campsite in Lobo.

Day 5 | Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Crater

Wake up early morning and after breakfast we depart the campsite to the Ngorongoro conservation area while observing game en route, after reaching the Ngorongoro conservation area through the Naabi gate we have an option of visiting the Olduvai gorge which Dr Louis Leakey and wife Marry Leakey made discoveries of the early hominid (man) in the 1950’s, the fossils of these discoveries are still at Olduvai gorge museum. We descend to the crater floor, the Ngorongoro is about 600 meters in depth and as we descend the crater floor we will be able to see the volcanic activities that shape the crater. We will do a game drive in the Ngorongoro crater and here we have a 75% chance of seeing the big five animals. Dinner and overnight stay at Simba campsite.

Day 6 | Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Eyasi

Early morning breakfasts then a full game drive in the Ngorongoro crater with picnic lunch and will have lunch at a picnic site with us and continue with game drive until afternoon when we ascend the crater. Then drive to Eyasi the home of the Hadzabe, here we will camp for dinner and overnight stay at camps in the safari canvas tents.

Day 7 | Eyasi – Mto wa mbu

Early morning wake up after breakfast clients will have an opportunity to go with locals Hadzabe for a hunt in the wild using bows and arrows, the hunting experience with the local Hadzabe is always the best as it gives clients a feeling and experience of the thrill of African hunting and the techniques, The clients will learn how to make fire by local methods and also how to find water in the wild life. Clients will also have an opportunity to eat / taste the African barbecue meat of the Hadzabe, and for the vegetarian clients lunch will be ready made for you. Later in the afternoon we will drive to Mto wa mbu for dinner and overnight stay at campsite.

Day 8 | Mto wa mbu – Tarangire National Park – Arusha city

Early morning breakfast then we drive from Mto wa mbu to Tarangire national park, Tarangire national park is one of the famous parks as it is known as a home of Elephants and Baobab trees, it is the only national park with a big number of Elephants per kilometers square, carried picnic lunches will be devoured at a picnic site inside the national park. Game drive until late evening where we drive back to the park gate for check out and drive back to Arusha town. Dinner and overnight stay at a hotel in Arusha.
